The reasons behind the voiding of bets at Pebble Beach for golfers

Though Wyndham Clark was 26 feet 5 inches from a 59 on Saturday as he paced the 18th green at Pebble Beach, he had a sneaking suspicion that there was more at stake than simply a historic score.

“I know the tournament is on the line, so I wanted to make sure I had good speed, but it would have been amazing to shoot 59,” Clark stated. “Yet having a birdie on tap was also quite special.”

Clark missed the putt by seven inches, giving him a sixty and a lead of one shot over Ludvig Aberg that would be sufficient. Following a storm that affected the Pebble Beach region on Saturday night and into Sunday, the PGA Tour postponed the event’s final round.
