Viktor Hovland has confirmed that he will be competing at this week’s Genesis Invitational, seemingly putting an end to the most recent round of LIV Golf rumors.
The Ryder Cup player boycotted last week’s WM Phoenix Open, raising the possibility that he would follow Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton as the most recent star of the PGA Tour to sign with Saudi-backed LIV Golf.
However, PGA Tour supporters don’t seem to need to worry just yet, as the Norwegian is scheduled to play in the prestigious Genesis with Tiger Woods and the finest players in golf.
Many were taken aback by Hovland’s abrupt departure from the Phoenix Open, which may have signaled the beginning of something more sinister—especially after Hatton had pulled off the same ruse earlier.
