UNBELIEVABLE: Five LIV stars initially turned down the Saudi League because to Mickelson’s “scary motherfucking”******’s remarks

Although not all of the PGA Tour stars were initially supportive of the Saudi Golf League, which is now known as LIV Golf, Phil Mickelson was the first to do so.

After the release of his controversial interview with Fire Pit Collective regarding Saudi Arabia’s entry into the game, Phil Mickelson, who is not currently competing, took center stage at the 2022 Genesis Invitational.

The six-time major winner called the Middle Eastern nation “scary motherf******” in the aforementioned interview, which he later claimed was “off the record.” He then defended their participation in professional golf as a means of exerting influence over the PGA Tour.

The remarks were not well received in the immediate aftermath, and Mickelson was forced to issue a public apology before spending four months in exile.

“The goal for everyone present is to compete against the world’s top players.” At the moment, he declared, “I’m here to do the same.” “Nothing can compare to this—winning a PGA Tour event, receiving a trophy, having Tiger there, and the entire history behind it.” After two years, the Chilean has won LIV Golf and is Torque GC’s captain.

Following Niemann’s victory in the first LIV event of 2024 in Mexico, Dustin Johnson won his third title on the breakaway circuit in Las Vegas a week later. Similar to the Chilean, he dismissed the possibility of playing alongside Mickelson at Riviera in 2022.

“I think it’s time to stop speculating about this. He said in a statement, “I am totally dedicated to the PGA Tour. “I am grateful for the opportunity to play on the best tour in the world and for all it has provided me and my family.”
