Sebastian Vidal claims that West Ham United has reached out to Graham Potter and Julen Lopetegui in the final hours of David Moyes’s tenure.
The London World weekend editor, via his personal Twitter account on February 21, alleges that the Hammers have decided to have negotiations with Potter and Lopetegui, two current free agents, before moving into the London Stadium for the upcoming season.
Moyes’s contract expires in the summer, and after eight games without a victory, he is under growing pressure. If results don’t improve, there are rumors that he may quit before then.
“West Ham has been in contact with Graham Potter and Lopetegui over the past few hours,” he added.
To get a sense of the two coaches, contact has been established. In case David Moyes goes in the upcoming weeks, the club wants to prepare and start working.
At West Ham, writing on the wall for David Moyes?
The club is believed to have not changed its position on Moyes much thus far and is eager to take its time making a choice.
However, the manager’s supporters have turned against him, and Moyes has recently begun to criticize publicly, which raises the possibility that the partnership is also irreparable.
If he does end up leaving, a lot of managers will be linked to the position, and Tim is reportedly targeting Thomas Tuchel among others.
That will be challenging, though, given that he is a Bayern Munich product and has seen major league success in the past.
However, it won’t be simple to accomplish, and West Ham will need to have lots of backup plans. The writing is undoubtedly on the wall for Moyes at this moment because they have begun to make moves for Potter and Lopetegui.
In unrelated West Ham news, a pundit predicts that David Moyes would “walk out on” the Hammers following the release of new video.
