Everyone was expecting for Tyrann Mathieu’s deal to be restructured as the New Orleans Saints have been rearranging contracts during the summer in order to stay under the salary cap. Nonetheless, Mathieu extended his contract as a means of conserving money.
The seasoned safety consented, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell, to a reduced pay in 2024 in return for a $13 million, two-year deal.
Tyrann Mathieu will be bound to the New Orleans Saints through the 2027 offseason as a result, increasing the likelihood that he will end his career with the team.
