Report: Attorney Kenner disputes Michael Thomas’s claim that the client’s case was dismissed…

WVUE/KENNER, LA – The double-misdemeanor charge against his client was dropped on Wednesday, March 20, according to Michael Thomas’s attorney, a former wide receiver for the Saints. However, the police and city prosecutor in Kenner denied that information.

Daniel “Becket” Becnel, Thomas’ attorney, informed Fox 8 that “after reviewing the evidence and reports, there were no injuries or damages, and no videos to support the charges.”

However, Becnel’s description was refuted by Kenner officials later in the afternoon, who stated that Thomas had instead been enrolled in a pretrial diversion program and that the matter was still pending. If defendants comply with the terms and conditions of a pretrial diversion agreement—which might differ from case to case—the charges are usually dropped.

The accusations from did not result in the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Thomas.

On November 10, Thomas was detained outside his Kenner house on suspicion of pushing a construction worker, hitting his smartphone, and hurling a brick at his vehicle, which was allegedly obstructing traffic on Thomas’ street. The football player was charged with criminal mischief and simple battery, which are both misdemeanors.
