It’s officially time for the New Orleans Saints to resume their job. New Orleans’ offseason practice began on Monday. There will be multiple phases to the program—some required, some optional—all culminating in a training camp that takes place in late July.
The Saints will begin laying the groundwork for what they believe would be a strong 2024 season during their offseason program.
Saints’ preseason itinerary
Workouts that are optional make up the initial part of the offseason regimen. It sounds just like a workout, which it is. Players are urged to go, even if it’s not required, and most of them do. On Monday, April 15, the Saints and twenty-five other teams began their optional workouts. The programs of teams with new head coaches have already begun.
Teams will be permitted to use the field after a few weeks, but not for official practices. They will be allowed to carry out walkthroughs and drills on the field. With OTAs, actual practices will begin. There are ten OTAs allotted to each team. The OTAs for the Saints are scheduled for May 21–23, May 28–30, and June 3-6.
OTAs are optional, just like the exercises, but it’s crucial that players turn up. The New Orleans Saints have a new offensive coordinator this summer, so it’s very crucial for them. The players must be present to understand the new system since Klint Kubiak is introducing a new offensive scheme.
The Saints’ mandatory minicamp, which takes place from June 11–13, is the only component of the offseason program that is required. For the three practice days, the complete team will be in attendance. Following those three days, everyone will be sent on their way by New Orleans until training camp begins in July. The Saints will begin their season-ending marathon sprint as soon as they report back for training camp.
