Although LSU has always produced a good number of NFL players, the Bayou has produced a particularly high number of stars in recent years.
The Tigers’ 2019 squad alone boasts some of the greatest players in the conference at their respective positions in quarterback Joe Burrow, outstanding receivers Justin Jefferson, and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
But the list doesn’t end there. Six Tigers overall made the cut in Pete Prisco’s recent ranking of the top 100 NFL players, with one additional player receiving honorable mention recognition. Prisco works for CBS Sports. LSU had nine players, the most of any collegiate team, only surpassed by Alabama’s nine.
Prisco was placed among the top 100 players, starting with a former LSU linebacker who got a large free agency contract this offseason, who was named an honorable mention.
Steelers LB Patrick Queen (Deserving of Honor)
Following a stellar season in which he was named to the Pro Bowl and Second Team All-Pro, Queen was selected for honorable mention. This offseason, he signed with the Steelers.
At thirty-two years old, he’s still a defensive playmaker. He can do a lot of things and has a flair with the ball. He is a strong back end player who can also play close to the line of scrimmage. (Previous year: No. 81)
Despite being a little past his peak, 32-year-old Mathieu is still one of the league’s most dependable defensive backs. He was named to the First Team All-Pro three times.
Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. is ranked No. 80.

He had an underwhelming debut campaign in 2022, but showed glimpses of stardom with the Texans last season. Being a long corner, he can match up with the top receivers in the game when it comes to coverage. (Previous season: NR)
Stingley struggled with injuries during his time in college, and they persisted into his rookie season. Despite playing in just 11 games this season, he made an impression with 13 pass breakups and five interceptions.
