In addition to revealing which Van Halen album will receive an enhanced edition in the near future, Sammy Hagar has pledged that the group he assembled for his current tour, which honours his tenure in the band, will record an album as a unit.
Alongside Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Ray Thistlethwaite, he is now headlining the Best of All Worlds Tour. They are doing a show honouring the late guitarist Eddie Van Halen while celebrating Van Halen’s legacy.
Recently, Hagar was asked if the quintet had thought of writing new music with his current bandmates in an interview with The Bogus Otis Show (below). Indeed. “I promise it, and I’m not sure when or why, because records don’t sell,” he continued.
“I’ve made a couple of [the] best records of my life the last two solo records (Crazy Times in 2022 and Space Between in 2019), and they’re lucky to sell fifty, sixty thousand copies each,” he went on. These days, you go set a record only to forfeit a few hundred thousand dollars.
Everything is fine, but it actually helps because I need to write off some taxes. “You see, I made too much this year,” I said. “Let’s go record something!”

Van Halen’s Pay-Per-View Event May Finally Air
Hagar stated in the same interview that the upcoming edition of Van Halen’s final album featuring his voice, Balance (1995), will come next. The singles “Don’t Tell Me (What Love Can Do),” “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You,” “Amsterdam,” and “Not Enough” were all taken from the album.
He was questioned over the pay-per-view performance that year, which was recorded in Toronto and broadcast in both Canada and the United States. Due to his resignation from the band, the commercial release that was planned for it was never carried out.
“I was unaware of that,” Hagar answered. I will thus bring that up. It’s a really wise idea.
