One major city’s police force is taking issue with the National Football League’s new security protocols.
If the NFL’s new regulations are implemented, the Las Vegas Police Department has threatened to boycott working Raiders games.
“We’ve been really worried about something.”According to Gammas, the NFL first required officers to “sign off on an agreement that you would absolve them of all liability should anything happen to you in the course and scope of a game,” but they later “removed” that clause.
But, the NFL will obtain the “biometric data — your face — and they’re going to use that however they need to” from the security officer.
Additionally, they’ll allow their NFL family partners to use your information if necessary. That goes out into a lot of places where a lot of individuals you might not want to see your biometric data exposed,” Gammas stated.
Specifically, Grammas read aloud the NFL policy that permits “members of the NFL family and their credentialing vendors, including Accredit Solutions Inc and Wicket LLC, to collect, use, retain, and disclose biometric data.” He considered it to be extremely dangerous.
