Report: “Peter Gabriel Reveals Unreleased Album from the ’80s Hidden in Vaults for Decades, Set for Immediate Release…

In an announcement that has sent shockwaves through the music industry and thrilled fans worldwide, Peter Gabriel has revealed the existence of an unreleased album from the 1980s that has been hidden away in his vaults for decades. The album, which was recorded during one of the most creatively fertile periods of his career, is set for immediate release, marking a monumental moment in the history of rock music.

The news was made public through Gabriel’s official website and social media channels, where he shared a short but tantalizing video teaser. The video featured snippets of music and images from the era, culminating in the announcement: “Peter Gabriel: In the Vault – The Lost Album of the 80s. Available Now.”

The album, titled In the Vault, was recorded between 1983 and 1985, during the same period that Gabriel was working on his iconic fifth studio album, So. While So became a massive commercial and critical success, featuring hits like “Sledgehammer” and “In Your Eyes,” the material on In the Vault was shelved for reasons that have remained a mystery until now.

In a statement accompanying the release, Gabriel explained the backstory of the lost album: “The 1980s were an incredibly productive time for me creatively, but they were also overwhelming. I was constantly writing and recording, and there were many ideas that didn’t fit with what I was doing on So but were still important to me. I always intended to come back to this material, but life and other projects got in the way. It wasn’t until recently that I revisited these tapes and realized they deserved to be heard.”

The album features 10 tracks, many of which have never been heard before by the public. Musically, In the Vault is said to blend the experimental sounds that defined Gabriel’s early solo work with the polished production and mainstream appeal that characterized So. The tracks reportedly explore a wide range of themes, from political and social issues to more personal and introspective topics, reflecting the diverse influences and experiences that shaped Gabriel’s life during that time.

One of the standout tracks on the album, titled “Echoes in the Wire,” is described as a haunting exploration of technology’s impact on human connection, a theme that resonates strongly in today’s digital age. Another track, “The Silent City,” is a dark, atmospheric piece that Gabriel has revealed was inspired by his experiences touring war-torn regions and witnessing the devastation firsthand.

The album also includes collaborations with several well-known musicians from the era. Guitarist David Rhode
