Breaking news: Tiger Woods’ decision to skip the players championship as the 2024 Tournament draws near is very regrettable.

Tiger Woods will not play in the PGA Tour event scheduled for next week.

The 144-golfer field for The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass did not include Woods when the entry deadline for the competition expired at 5 p.m. on Friday.

This comes after the 48-year-old withdrew from the Genesis Invitational in February during the midst of the second round due to what Woods later explained was “influenza,” despite the first description of the condition being a “illness.”

This was Woods’ first full-field PGA Tournament since he was knocked out of the 2023 Masters, following which he had ankle surgery.
After exiting the competition, Woods said on X, “I would like to confirm that I had to withdraw from @thegenesisinv due to illness, which we now know is influenza.” “I feel better and am getting some rest. I hope the players have a successful weekend. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it, and I appreciate the support from @GenesisUSA and all the supporters.
