The veteran wide receiver Michael Thomas was not pleased with a blog written by Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com explaining why the New Orleans Saints will release him on X.
Jeff Duncan, it’s hilarious that they want to let me go even though my contract is just for a year 😂😂😂. Don’t fall for it; he is the same guy who, after accusing me of not being the same player in training camp, sought to be my friend during the season. Michael Thomas stated on X, “#nexttopic.”
Regarding Duncan’s writing on his possible release from the Saints, Thomas made more posts on X. Naturally, Thomas did not mince words.
“That Jeff Duncan a h**l. In an attempt to remain current, let’s talk about it. The SaintsI’m not broke, therefore I can talk about it. He tried to destroy players’ worth by having information leaked to him. He needs clicks because he is broke. Go read all of his articles that turn out to be false,” Thomas said on X in a different post.
Thomas didn’t stop there; he kept berating the columnist.
After the 2024 season, Thomas, who is still under contract with the Saints for this season, will be eligible to sign with any team as a free agent. Thomas, though, asserts that the agreement was only meant to last one year and that it was always intended for him to become a free agency in the offseason.
Thomas was one of the NFL’s top receivers in his early years of play. Ever since, he has battled with injuries. It will be important to keep an eye on his whereabouts because he still has the ability to strengthen a team when playing.
