Report: New Orleans Saints trade up for LSU star WR Malik Nabers in unique national media mock draft…

Currently, mock drafts are all over NFL social media. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, as the 2024 NFL Draft is just one week away. In mocks, the New Orleans Saints have frequently chosen a new offensive tackle, but a recent one that was widely publicized altered their strategy.

Field Yates and Peter Schrager constructed a unique mock draft in which they traded and switched picks. In their first mock draft round, the Saints took a bold offensive stance.

In their special mock draft, the Saints traded up to choose LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Any NFL offense would benefit greatly from having Nabers on it. Nabers, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed together would rank as one of the top trios in the league for the Saints.
If this scenario came to pass, the Saints would have to address the offensive line several times during the remainder of this draft.
They need another starting overtime player, and Ryan Ramczyk’s injury puts his career in jeopardy.

Overall, a few Nabers would pique the interest of the audience. The LSU fanbase is shared by many Saints supporters, who have witnessed him rule college football in recent years. Perhaps the best five prospects in this year’s class are him.

All things considered, it would be expensive for New Orleans to trade up into the top eight. In the first four rounds of this year’s draft, they only have two picks. They would most likely need to surrender a day three pick this year and a day two pick in 2025 to effectuate a deal if they wanted to maintain the 45th overall pick.

This kind of step up could be costly for the Saints, depending on other offers.
