The Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark are playing better lately. The Fever have a 4-2 record after winning only once in their first nine games in the 2024 WNBA season. They have won their last two games, putting them on a winning streak for the first time this season.
Christie Sides, the head coach of the Fever, recently shared her thoughts on what has been driving Indiana throughout their team’s continuing midseason comeback.
After the Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 91-83 at home on Sunday, Sides remarked, “They’re learning each other, and that’s what this is” (h/t Zion Brown of the Indianapolis Star). They are currently learning from one other in this manner. They are figuring out how to read off one another and how to play off one another.

Clark led the Fever in the victory over Chicago with 23 points on 7/11 shooting from the field, but four other Indiana players each chipped in with at least 15 points to ensure that Clark did not have to carry the club alone. Furthermore, Indiana had the most assists of the club this season—23—in that particular game.
The Fever must keep demonstrating that Indiana is greater than the sum of its parts and that they are more than just individual creations.
Though they still have a ways to go before hitting.500 once more, the Fever are at least on the right track with their 5–10 record. This following Wednesday, Clark and the Fever will play the humble Washington Mystics at home.
