Star player for the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark, said something shocking after her team’s Thursday 89-77 loss to the Seattle Storm. During the press conference held after the game, Clark was questioned about the finest in-game guidance she has been given this season by an experienced player.
“In-game, no one offers me advice,” remarked Clark. “I wish.” To be clear, Clark is referring to advise from other WNBA players, not from her coach or teammates.
It’s not unusual for seasoned players on rival teams to offer guidance or encouragement to inexperienced players during or following games.
Clark doesn’t seem to be benefiting from those advantages, as his entry into the WNBA has been clouded by controversy from the beginning. Clark leads all WNBA rookies with 16.2 points and 6.6 assists per game, and she looks to be doing quite well on her own even without any guidance from league veterans during games.
