Following the devastating news regarding Khyree Jackson, the University of Alabama football team took to social media to issue a message.
Jackson, a former defensive back for the Crimson Tide, passed away in his native Maryland on Friday night in an automobile accident.

Under Nick Saban, the 24-year-old was a cornerback for the Tide from 2021 to 2022. He was a member of Alabama’s College Football Playoff and Southeastern Conference Championship teams in 2021. Jackson was a member of the Alabama team that won the Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship in 2022. He attended the University of Oregon for his final year, where he had a breakthrough season in 2023.
With a team-high three interceptions and seven pass breakups, Jackson was named to the first team of the Pac-12 and was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Alabama football team announced via X that it is saddened by Jackson’s passing and that its prayers are with his friends and family. Former Alabama coach and player Wes Neighbors and staff member Eron Hodges both posted remarks against Jackson on X. Under Saban, neighbors were Tide players from 2008 to 2011.
