Report: December Deadly Shooting at Phoenix Car Wash Arrested man… 

Detectives from the Phoenix Police Department have detained 30-year-old William Murray for his role in Brandon Smith’s gunshot death following months of ongoing investigations. Responding authorities have recognized Murray as the company employee who was first taken into custody on the scene.

Murray was charged with second-degree murder and taken to MSCO jail.

Before seven in the morning on December 16, 2023, authorities were called to a car wash located close to 1700 North 44th Street, reporting gunfire. Brandon Smith was discovered by the police

with a gunshot wound. After being taken to the hospital, Mr. Smith was eventually declared dead.

It was discovered by the responding officers that Murray and Smith got into a fight.
