Since 2020, only Alpine has been using the Renault engine. Their final customer team, McLaren, operated the engine from 2018 till 2020.
The deadline for Andretti Cadillac Racing to enter Formula One is quickly approaching, and a current team has offered to provide engines to the prospective new team. By the close of the 2023 season, Michael Andretti’s proposal to add an 11th team to the Formula One ranks was accepted by the FIA.
Since then, Andretti has declared that the team would begin receiving engines from General Motors in 2028. The crew has also begun testing the vehicles. That being said, there is a significant gap in time between General Motors’ planned production integration into the grid and Andretti’s 2025 goal.
